چکیده

In this study, a sustainable and eco-friendly method was used to prepare zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) using sea cucumber aqueous extract. Then, ZnO-NPs were characterized by instrumental analysis (UV-vis, HR-TEM, XRD, FT-IR, DLS) evaluated for their possible antibacterial, antifungal, insecticidal activities. Additionally, the toxicity of in vivo against Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The collected from Gulf Suez (Red Sea) at Al-Ain Al-Sokhna coast Egypt identified as Holothuria impatiens. prepared Hi-ZnO-NPs peaked 350 nm UV–Vis spectral analysis. They showed quasi-spherical shaped particles with sizes ranging 13 47 predominate size 26 indicated HR-TEM. XRD pattern revealed crystalline phase an average 17.2 calculated Debye–Scherrer equation. FTIR role H. impatiens biological molecules biosynthesis process ZnO-NPs. negative zeta potential −19.6 mV, demonstrating moderate stability. Biosynthesized broad antimicrobial activity Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus ATCC 25923 E. feacalis), Gram-negative typhi, K. pneumonia coli), filamentous fungi (Aspergillus niger). demonstrated larvicidal mosquito, Culex pipiens (LC50 = 2.756 ppm LC90 9.294 ppm), adulticidal action housefly, Musca domestica (LD50 4.285 LD90 22.847 ppm). Interestingly, did not show mortality effects tilapia fish niloticus), highlighting safety highly exposed, non-target organisms. However, histopathological hematological investigations provided dose-dependent impacts tilapia. Overall, data provide approach synthesizing novel multiple biomedical properties potentially low fish.

Visual communication stimulates reproduction in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.).

Reproductive fish behavior is affected by male-female interactions that stimulate physiological responses such as hormonal release and gonad development. During male-female interactions, visual and chemical communication can modulate fish reproduction. The aim of the present study was to test the effect of visual and chemical male-female interaction on the gonad development and reproductive beh...

Behaviours Associated with Acoustic Communication in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

BACKGROUND Sound production is widespread among fishes and accompanies many social interactions. The literature reports twenty-nine cichlid species known to produce sounds during aggressive and courtship displays, but the precise range in behavioural contexts is unclear. This study aims to describe the various Oreochromis niloticus behaviours that are associated with sound production in order t...

Human Streptococcus agalactiae Isolate in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

Streptococcus agalactiae, the Lancefield group B streptococcus (GBS) long recognized as a mammalian pathogen, is an emerging concern with regard to fish. We show that a GBS serotype Ia multilocus sequence type ST-7 isolate from a clinical case of human neonatal meningitis caused disease and death in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Replacement of fish meal by plant protein sources in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) diet: growth performance and utilization

The nutritional suitability and cost effectiveness of rice polish and mustard oil cake as protein sources in the diet of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were studied. This study introduced rice polish as a plant protein source for Nile tilapia and three diets were formulated using rice polish (0, 10 and 20%) and mustard oil cake (10.0, 17.6 and 22.0%) for a feeding trail of eight weeks to ...

THE OPPOSING EFFECT OF ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C) ON OCHRATOXIN TOXICITY IN NILE TILAPIA (Oreochromis niloticus)

The opposing effect of ascorbic acid against ochratoxin induced perturbations in some haematological and biochemical parameters in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was investigated. This study was carried out to evaluate the ability of a minimum level (500 mg/ kg diet) of vitamin C to counteract the toxicity of two levels of ochratoxin (400 and 600 μg/ kg diet). Nile tilapia (5060 g/ fish) ...
